From time to time this
service will list a video incident or picture that happen in a game and
your job as the referee is to interpret "What's The Call". You can
check your answer by clicking on the "red" answer link or view further
video clips. See if you agree with fellow referees or not!!!

1) Watch it once and ask yourself
what offence was committed and by whom?
2) Watch it again. This time ask
yourself if the safety of the keeper is compromised?
3) And again. Is the ball within
or out with the keeper's control at the exact moment the
attacker makes contact?
4) Is the
attacker restricting the keepers ability to get rid of the
ball within the six seconds he has? |
Remember that
Refereeing is the only profession where you have to be perfect first
time out on the field of play ... and then improve!!!

Simulation (Dives)
This type of play is coming more and more into the modern game.
It is up to us as referees to deal with it.
The clips will let you see how very important positioning is
and how, if you are out of position, you
can get it all wrong.

Outside Interference (X
Rated)
Often we are called
upon to make a decision that is out of the ordinary! Check out the
video clip by clicking on the image below and then think of what your
decision should be. Is it the best goal you have seen?
Would you issue a caution for coming onto the field without permission?
One team has twelve players, doesn't it? What about the player not
wearing the correct equipment as specified in Law 4? How would you
restart the game?

Excessive Celebration (X
Rated)
Here is another
decision that is out of the ordinary! Check out the video clip by
clicking on the image below and then think of what your decision should
be. Is it one of the best goals you have seen? What
about the player's shin pads being exposed and contrary to Law 4.
Would you issue a caution for leaving the field without permission to
celebrate the goal? What about the shirt removal? How would
you restart the game?
